Bejawada is not Siva for Naga Chaitanya – Ram Gopal Varma

There is ample difference between Siva character that I created in ‘Siva’ and Sivakrishna character created by Vivek Krishna in ‘Bejawada’. Siva character was born as per the situations in 1989 when ‘Siva’ was released. Vivek is designing ‘Bejawada’ as per today’s circumstances in movies as well as real world. During the time of ‘Siva’ I was inspired by films like ‘God Father’, ‘Arjun’ and ‘Arthasatya’ while Vivek is inspired by ‘Siva’ and ‘Sarkar’ and also was influenced by films directed by various other directors. Finally he directed ‘Bejawada’ in his unique style. However he took the popular cycle chain backdrop music from ‘Siva’, modernized it and used it in ‘Bejawada’ in his own style.

My ‘Bejawada’ is not ‘Siva’ – Vivek Krishna
As some cinegoers and media is predicting there is no similarity between ‘Siva’ and ‘Bejawada’. Similarly the Siva character in ‘Siva’ and Sivakrishna character in ‘Bejawada’ are also different from each other. In ‘Siva’ Nagarjuna’s character starts off like an under dog and transforms into a hero. But in my ‘Bejawada’ Chaitanya is a hero right from beginning. In the same way both ‘Bejawada’ and ‘Siva’ stories are quite different from each other. Nonetheless being a new director, I’m inspired by many directors, hence I tried to present some scenes and shots in my own style which I liked in some films taken by them.
___Vivek Krishna
